Our Schools Are Failing

The Erlanger-Elsmere School District ranks 161 out of 172 in Kentucky. In 2023-24, only 24% of elementary students were proficient in math (state average: 42%) and 31% in reading (state average: 47%). Middle schoolers scored 26% in math and 35% in reading, while high schoolers hit 28% in math and 36% in reading—far below state averages. As your State Representative and a Lloyd Memorial High School graduate, I’ve fought for better education through legislation improving reading and math. But local change requires a strong school board, and I need your help.

Why Your Leadership Matters

Our 2,300 students and $32 million budget deserve better. Recent actions by Board Chair Jeffrey Miller, who posted support for violence against Republicans show a failure of leadership. As the District's State Representative, I’m working on the House Education Committee to secure resources and push reform. But we need board members to focus on academics, not division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the budget to prioritize academic excellence.

  • Enact policies to boost math and reading proficiency.

  • Hire and hold the superintendent accountable.

  • Rebuild community trust through transparency.

  • Partner with me to align local and state education goals.

Who Can Run?

Any district resident, at least 24 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent and registered to vote in Kentucky, can run. No experience is needed—just a commitment to our students. Board members serve four-year terms in nonpartisan elections.

Why Now?

In November 2026, three of five board seats are up for election. With our district in crisis and leadership failing to prioritize education, we need new voices to demand results. Join me to rebuild a school system that prepares every student for success.
